A ‘Yuge’ Trump Portrait Just Appeared in a Cornfield…in Italy

Historians will likely document the 2016 election as one of the most – if not the most – bizarre elections in American history. Given the United States’ status in the world, it’s not a surprise that other nations take an active interest in U.S. politics every four years, but even though this is one strange election, people in other countries have become far more invested than usual.
That’s probably because of one Donald J. Trump, who, despite his polarizing personality (or maybe because of it), has a way of commanding attention even when he’s not directly in front of a camera (ahem, 3 a.m. tweets, ahem). Now one man in Italy is at least fascinated by Trump enough that he’s emblazoned his field with a giant portrait of the Republican presidential candidate.
According to the Associated Press, the “yuuuge” portrait was created by Italian land artist Dario Gambarin. He created the image using his tractor in a field near the city of Verona.
Along with a portrait, Gambarin wrote the word, “Ciao,” which can mean either “Hello” or “Goodbye,” but the AP reports in this case it likely means “Goodbye” based on Trump’s flailing poll numbers.
