Australian mommy blogger Constance Hall is no stranger to viral and inspirational Facebook posts. She caused an uproar when Instagram deleted one of her “mom-bod” photos and inspired thousands when she posted about body positivity, especially in front of your children.
Now, she’s at it again. This time posting about how utterly confusing being a mom actually is. One example she lists is the fact that she only has time to eat scraps but is somehow gaining weight.
“You work 24 hours a day and get asked why you don’t work,” she wrote.
“Your toddler actually ate dog shit yesterday yet won’t even try a meal that you slaved away to make him….Your (sic) never ever alone yet you always feel a bit lonely,” she continued. “Everyone is uploading photos of themselves and their new families frolicking and holding hands in fields while you’re locking bathroom door drinking beer in the shower loathing the reflection of your dread locking pubes in the foggy mirror.”
Despite these seemingly negative qualities about parenting, Hall closes with a statement that she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“You spend your whole day wanting some space from the very people that you never want to leave…It’s so confusing because you wouldn’t change a single thing.”
Halls’ post illustrates what a lot of parents go through, and it shows. As of press time, her post has received over 100,000 likes and over 15,700 shares. Perhaps with her post, more parents will feel less alone.
