A group of Indiana State Troopers has gone viral this week thanks to their karaoke cover of a Grease classic.
The group, Troopers Brent Lemberg, Jonathan Amburgey, Jonathan Cole, and Dustin Rutledge, were finishing up their final day of patrolling the Indiana State Fair when they decided to make an amusing lip-sync video. They chose “Summer Nights,” the John Travolta/Olivia Newton John duet from the film’s soundtrack, a worldwide hit in 1978.
The video came out so well that Amburgey uploaded it to Vimeo, where it was watched 20,000 times in a matter of hours. As of press time, the :42 second video stands at over 186,000 views.
Speaking of their reasoning for making the video, Amburgey told a local Fox affiliate, “The state fair is a time that we have the opportunity to interact with the public in a way that we normally don’t get to. We wanted to show people that we aren’t robots. We have a personality, we like to laugh, and– most of all– we like to make other people laugh.”
