Brie Larson may have won the Academy Award on Sunday night, but her most heartwarming moment was one not captured on screen.
During Lady Gaga’s emotional performance of “Til It Happens to You,” from the campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground, she was joined on stage by a number of sexual assault survivors. The survivors stood together on stage conveying a very powerful message. After playing to a standing ovation, the survivors filed out of the room and walked off the stage into the crowd.

The performance moved many audience members, including Rachel McAdams and Kate Winslet who appeared to tear up, but it was a touching moment from Larson that really stole the show.
In the moment not shown on TV, the now Oscar winner greeted and hugged each of the survivors as they walked out of the room. The Hollywood Reporter’s Chris Gardner captured the emotional and heartwarming scene inside the theater.
