Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick are taking their singing talents to the big screen in the brand new trailer for Trolls.
In the film Timberlake plays Branch, a grumpy troll who has blocked off the outside world while trying to hide in his survivor bunker. Branch’s main goal is to keep the “nightmare” from entering his house. However, the “nightmare” is far from anything scary.
Enter Poppy (Kendrick), the extremely happy and super positive leader of the trolls and the “nightmare” Branch is trying to stay clear of. Poppy is basically the opposite of a nightmare, always organizing dance numbers and sing-alongs within the troll community. However, one day when a villainous troll names Bergen shows up and kidnaps some of the trolls, Poppy and Branch are forced to work together to help save them.
The official synopsis reads:
“From the creators of “Shrek” comes the most smart, funny, irreverent animated comedy of the year, DreamWorks’ “Trolls.” This holiday season, enter a colorful, wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters and discover the story of the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant song on their lips, and the comedicly (sic) pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach.”
Along with lending his voice to the film, Timberlake helped curate the official Trolls soundtrack, which includes his summer hit “Can’t Stop The Feeling” and an original song from Gwen Stefani.
James Corden, Russel Brand, Kunal Nayyar, Ronald Funches, and Icona Pop will join Kendrick and Timberlake on the big screen.
Check out the trailer below and see Trolls in theaters on November 4.
