Talk about an intense game of hide and seek!
At a farm in Menomonie, Wisconsin, a baby alpaca took off from its usual routine and left the pack. During its journey, the little alpaca wound up stuck inside of a hole.
“The baby is a week old and it always comes with its mother when I feed grain in the evening,” a farmer named John shared with BuzzFeed.
The little animal was found 24 hours later, casually peaking out from a hole in the ground.
“The entire alpaca herd was lying around the hole,” John said. “It was really strange to see because she was entirely underground when I first saw her.”
The little fellow attempted to wiggle itself free, but was unsuccessful. Luckily, John was able to dig out the alpaca and set it free.
According to the farm’s Facebook page, alpacas are known for rolling in holes and taking dust baths. Looks like this alpaca got a little too into its dust bath!
The alpaca got out of the hole safe and sound and was quickly reunited with its mother.
Run free alpaca! (Just watch out for those holes!)
