Hayley Brown is a 7-year-old girl from Melbourne, Australia who is in the middle of battling cancer.
Because of the cancer, Brown had to undergo chemotherapy, which caused all of her hair to fall out. While Brown was initially upset when she found out she would lose all of her hair, she just “shrugged it off when it did actually fall out,” reported Kidspot.
While Brown’s head hair went quickly, her luscious, long eyelashes stuck around for a while longer.
“Right through people, including her older sister, always said how jealous they were of her beautiful big eyelashes,” Brown’s dad, Andrew, told Kidspot. “But then one day she was complaining about something in her eye. The lashes were all coming out one at a time.”
Brown’s dad, who has been right by her side during her treatment, shared a touching photo of Brown’s journey, highlighting the final single eyelash.
“That one last eyelash has been hanging on, on its own, for a few weeks now,” Brown’s dad captioned the photo.
The single eyelash fell out three weeks later, but made a strong impression with people across the internet.
“Maybe this one lash is a sign to let you all know that she is holding on to fight it and that you all need to stay strong,” one Facebook user wrote.
“What a beautiful little princess,” expressed one user. “Beautiful photo. Stay strong, best is yet to come,” encouraged another user.
Hopefully these strong words of encouragement will help Brown persevere and come out on top in her cancer battle!
