You better get the tissues ready for this one.
When Sydney was assigned to write an essay about her parents, she asked her father about how they met. Her dad responded with a heartwarming text about his 27-year marriage to her mother – and that quickly brought Sydney to tears.
The dad began the story by explaining that his engagement to her mother was pretty much a joke. However, after two weeks together, he fell “madly in love” with her.
“You guys only see her as R2D2. I get to see her as my best friend, my hilarious wife, and my beautiful queen when we get the chance to be away from here and work,” he wrote.
He continued to explain that after two children, their marriage took a hit and was rocky. They weren’t spending enough time together and it was hurting their relationship.
He then shared that her mother wanted another baby and admitted that he wasn’t on board right away. However, it was the best decision they could have made.
“So you were the way to bring us back together. Didn’t know it at the time but you changed out lives,” he wrote. “We chose to have mommy quit working. By doing so, I lost R2D2 and got back my truly perfect wife.”
He went on to share that they finally got time to “focus on each other” and were able to get the “family to gel.”
“Bottom line, we fell into each other’s lap under odd circumstances but it resulted in the coolest family ever. You three kids are our personalities all wrapped up. Our heart, soul, humor, kindness, respect, integrity and a million other neat stuff about us. We would not be the same without everyone we have,” he wrote.
He continued, “And it keeps growing. I’ve had the perfect life because of your mom. A perfect life. Give me s[sic] billion dollars. Make the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. Make me president. None of those would be worth it without her. She doesn’t just ‘complete me’ she came into my life when I was young and immature, completed me and then made me so much better of a person. I dated and married an angel.”
Sydney tweeted out the story on December 4 and it quickly went viral. The sweet love story has now been retweeted over 8,800 times and liked over 17,000 times as of Wednesday.
