This Couple Got a Major Surprise When They Adopted a ‘Tiny’ Dog
When Sue Markham brought home a tiny puppy from the shelter, she had no idea what kind of surprise she was in for.
Robert Markham was not thrilled with the idea of getting a dog. Luckily for his wife, he compromised and said they could get a small puppy. Sue Markham then brought home a tiny Jack Russell terrier, or at least she thought so.
The Markham’s named the little pup Yogi Bear, yet he did not stay very little for long. The little pup began to grow and the Markham’s quickly realized he was a Boston Great Dane and not a little Jack Russell terrier like they were told.
While it was quite the shock for the Markham’s, they have learned to embrace their giant dog. They now spoil him with lot of love.
The giant Great Dane weighs about 200 pounds and is about 6 feet long, measuring from his nose to his tail.
“I thought, ‘How much trouble can a Jack Russell be?’” Sue Markham told the Daily Mail. “By the time he was five months old, he was bigger than any Jack Russell he came across at the park and he had this big tongue that lolled out of his mouth and a tail like a baseball bat.”
Yogi Bear doesn’t let his size get in the way of his fun. The tremendous dog has a tiny dog best friend named Toffee, who loves to snuggle and relax with Yogi.
Yogi’s size also gives him a giant appetite. The Markham’s spend around $235 a month on food for the dog. Some of his favorite foods include scrambled eggs and sausages.
While the Markham’s were not expecting to have a dog this big, they are sure glad they picked Yogi!
