Stray Dog Finds Abandoned Baby in Alley and Keeps it Warm Until Help Arrives
For some dogs, the instinct to protect others is very strong.
During a winter night in Argentina, a stray dog wondered upon an abandoned baby. The poor baby was left on its own in a cold alley. The stray dog, which had just given birth to a litter of puppies, had her motherly instinct kick in and knew she had to protect the baby.
According to CNN, the dog brought the baby 50 meters away to where she was keeping her puppies.
Luckily, the baby and the dog were quickly found. A neighbor stumbled upon the baby crying in the alley and took the baby to the hospital for medical treatment.
“She took it like a puppy and rescued it,” Daniel Salcedo, chief of police of the Province of Buenos Aires said to CNN. “The doctors told us if she hadn’t done this, he would have died.”
The following morning, the baby’s mother arrived at the hospital. Minutes later, she given a psychological treatment.
If it weren’t for the stray dog, the baby probably would have not survived the cold night outside.
“The dog is a hero to us,” Daniel Salcedo said to CNN in an interview.
