‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Merchandise Lands In Stores And Everyone Loses Their Minds
Disney and Lucasfilm unleashed “the force” Friday when a multitude of new merchandise landed in retail stores for the highly-anticipated sequel, Star War: The Force Awakens.
The new merchandise is a boon for retailers ahead of the busy Holiday shopping season, as well as fanboys everywhere eager to get their hands on new collectibles, gadgets, and other fun things perfect for anyone ages 3 to 333.
To help launch “#ForceFriday,” retailers opened early and will be open late Friday. In some places, retailers went the extra mile for the event, like these fans who dressed up in stormtrooper costumes “twerking” their happiness.
While the children’s toys are certain to get much attention, there’s a few items out there for the grown-up kids.
For instance, Sphero’s BB-8 remote controlled replica responds to a smartphone or tablet app to perfectly mimic the droid’s cinematic movements.
And then there’s Air Hogs remote controlled drone of the Millennium Falcon. Expect that to crash into the White House lawn at some point.
If you’re really hoping to shower your little ones with the most awesome merch you can get your hands on, you’ll need to pick up the Pottery Barn Millennium Falcon bed. And it’ll have to be for the kids, since they are not (yet) making adult sizes.
Or maybe you’re in need of something a little more practical? Well, sushi night at casa de (insert your name here) will be much more fun with your Kylo Ren Lightsaber Chopsticks. As if holding chopsticks wasn’t difficult enough, then they add on extra tacks. Great…
There’s a ton more and we literally don’t have the light-years to delve into everything here. But rest assured, you’ll be seeing The Force Awakens everywhere until the film drops into theaters December 18.
