A recent widow is turning to social media to help her grieve after her husband was killed in a horrible tragedy.
Officer Blake Snyder was killed in early October in St. Louis, Missouri after responding to a disturbance call. The suspect, Trent Forster, reportedly shot him after he asked to see Forster’s hands while he was sitting in his car. Snyder’s partner returned fire and shot the suspect, leaving him hospitalized with a first-degree murder and an armed criminal action charge.
After Officer Snyder’s death, the community of St. Louis was quick to reach out and support Officer Snyder’s wife, Elizabeth, and their son, Malachi. Comfort and support through social media has especially helped Snyder during this tough time.
Synder has taken to social media sharing lovely, but heartbreaking gifts and anecdotes about her husband. One gift that stood out included two teddy bears that were made from her husband’s uniform.
The recent widow also shared a touching story about a piece of jewelry that was found after her husband’s death. The necklace was a gift from her husband and it was very meaningful, giving Snyder a little piece of happiness after her friend stumbled upon it.
“It’s the little things like this that keep tearing my heart apart. I miss him so very much,” she wrote. See the full post below.
Synder also sent out a special post on Thanksgiving, sharing just how supportive the community has been since her husband’s death.
“I am also thankful for every person who has generously helped support Chi and I. I’m not sure where we would be without you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she wrote.
