Scarlett Johansson Searches for Identity in First Look at ‘Ghost in the Shell’

“They did not save your life. They stole it.”
Those are the ominous words capping off the action-packed, mystery-filled trailer for Ghost in the Shell. The movie is based on the critically-acclaimed 1995 anime and stars Scarlett Johansson as a cyborg policewoman searching for a nefarious computer hacker. Watch:
According to Paramount Pictures, the full synopsis reads:
“Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, ‘Ghost in the Shell’ follows Major (Johansson), a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.”
Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman). It hits theaters March 31, 2017.
