After a 6.6-magnitude earthquake rocked Italy, some rescue workers were able to make an amazing rescue.
Rescue workers spotted a dog’s leg coming out from underneath some rubble during their search on Monday. Italian firefighters quickly worked to get the dog out, carefully removing rocks and debris from the earthquake that struck the town of Norcia on Sunday.
After a lot of careful digging and maneuvering of rocks, the dog was able to make it to flat ground. The dog was then given some water, which the pup happily accepted after being stuck for more than a day.
The heartwarming rescue was caught on tape and the video was released by the Italian firefighters. Check it out below.
According to CNN, the earthquake that hit central Italy was “the strongest tremor to hit the country in more than three decades.” The tremor comes after a series of quakes that tore apart other small towns in August.
Luckily, no lives were lost in the major tremor, yet 20 people were injured. The small town where the dog was found, Basilica of San Benedetto in Norcia, has basically been demolished by the disaster.
