911 Operator: “911. What’s the address of the emergency?” Cowboy: “We got a guy who just stole a bike here at Walmart. I got him roped and tied to a tree.” 911 Operator: “What?!”
Yes, that was an actual 911 call made outside of a Walmart in Eagle Point, Oregon, where a real-life cowboy stopped a robbery in progress.
Meet Robert Borba, a 28-year-old rancher who, upon hearing a woman in distress calling for help outside of Walmart, literally sprung into action, climbing on his horse and chasing the suspect down until the proper authorities could arrive.
Minding his own business while shopping for some dog food, Borba exited the Walmart when he heard a woman yell, “Stop him! Stop him! He stole my bike! He stole my bike!”
Just as Borba heard her, an unknown man went blazing by on a bicycle. Acting quickly, Borba jumped on his horse (which was probably tied nearby, because of course it was), and like the heroic cowboys of film, actually chased the bandit down before lassoing and tying him up by the leg, just like “I would a steer,” he told CBS.
It was then that Borba made the hilariously strange 911 call. “I just figured it was the right thing to do,” said Borba. “If it was my wife or my little girl, I would hope somebody would help her if I wasn’t around.”
When the officer, Chris Adams, arrived to the scene, he found Borba on his horse, standing over the suspect, who was tied by his ankle, holding onto a tree. “I’d take him by my side any day,” Adams said.

And like those legendary cowboys, Borba just asked for his rope back before tipping his hat and riding off.
You just can’t make this stuff up.
