Deciding on how much money to give a kid from the tooth fairy can be a bothersome task for any parent. So, when Ray Skwire and his wife found themselves debating on how much to give their 10-year-old son Elliot for his lost tooth, they decided to have a little fun with it.
Skwire posted an image of his and his wife’s text message exchange about how to deal with their son’s tooth, where he suggests they make him earn the cash instead of just giving it to him freely.
Skwire told ABC News, “Like any parent we struggle with getting our kid to do chores. He usually does them, but sometimes he slacks.”
Elliot received an official letter from “The Offices of Tooth and Fairy, LLC – Tooth Adjusters.”
The letter reads in part:
“Dear Elliot,
“Thank you for the return of your fourth molar. Here is payment upon receipt; the agreed-upon sum of $5.00 (five American dollars).
“By leaving your tooth out for one of our Tooth Adjusters, you, the toothee, have entered into a contractual obligation to perform measured work, herein known as Chores.”
The letter goes on to state that the “tooth adjusters” received word that his chores go uncompleted and that if they continue to remain so, they will come and take his remaining teeth.
Ouch!
According to Skwire, little Elliot was not too pleased. However, ABC reports that he doesn’t believe in the tooth fairy anyway, so the family was able to laugh about it later.
No word yet on whether Elliot will do his chores!
