Attention all breakfast lovers! Your day is about to get a whole lot better!
A breakfast cereal café is opening in Times Square in New York City on July 4. Kellogg’s has teamed up with Anthony Rudolf, the General Manager of Per Se, and Christina Tosi, owner of Milk Bar, to create a gourmet cereal bar. The cereal bar will include both basic and super elaborate creations.
The menu will include classic flavors and fan favorites such as Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes, but will also include a section of “elevated cereals.” Menu items such as “The Pistachio-Lemon,” “Berry Me in Green Tea,” and “The Chai Line” will be available for the adventurous cereal eater.
Dessert lovers will be able to indulge in one of the cereal sundaes such as “Life in Color,” which includes Froot Loops, lime zest, marshmallows, and passion fruit jam. The sundaes are all served with Blue Marble soft serve ice cream.
The cereal will be served in an unusual style as well. Rudolf shared the process with Eater explaining, “You’ll order with people, and you’ll be greeted by people. But then in a very low-tech way, when it comes time for you to receive your cereal, we give you a buzzer and your buzzer will tell you what cabinet to go to. You’ll open up the cabinet, and there’s your cereal — or maybe not. Maybe it’s the morning paper or an apple or a banana or maybe you get the toy in the cereal box. And maybe the toy in the cereal box is a temporary tattoo, or maybe it’s Hamilton tickets.”
Kellogg’s NYC opens on July 4 on 1600 Broadway in NYC. See a preview below and check out the menu here.
