New Report Claims Hillary Clinton’s Server Contained Highly Classified Emails
Hilary Clinton’s emails on her private server contained highly classified information from parts of the U.S. intelligence community’s most secretive programs, according to a new report.
A CNN spokeswoman confirmed that General I. Charles McCullough, the Intelligence Community Inspector, shared findings in a letter to leaders on the congressional intelligence committee last week detailing the information that was found in Clinton’s emails.
The emails were flagged by two government agencies. They both claimed the emails contained classified information, including “special access programs” that are “top secret.”
Brian Fallon, Clinton’s spokesman, disputed the reports arguing the information “described as ‘classified’ may be no more than a news article that was forwarded.” Fallon continued to point out that the issue may be between the State Department and the intelligence community deciding what is classified information and what is not.
While Clinton had several emails in question, these two were red-flagged due to the type of information they contained. The State has also shared that some of the information could be from multiple sources and may be getting the extra attention for no reason.

“The State Department is focused on and committed to releasing former Secretary Clinton’s emails in a manner that protects sensitive information,” shared John Kirby, a State Department spokesman, in a statement. “No one takes this more seriously than we do. We have said repeatedly that we anticipate more upgrades throughout our release process. Our (Freedom of Information Act) review process is still ongoing. Once that process is complete, if it is determined that information should be classified as Top Secret, we will do so.”
The Justice Department is continuing their review of the emails and how they “improperly” ended up on Clinton’s server. Republican lawmakers have asked for the inspector general to continue the investigation in March.
