From the Associated Press:
“An official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to be quoted by name said Guzman was apprehended after a shootout with Mexican marines in the city of Los Mochis, in Guzman’s home state of Sinaloa.”
According to the AP, five people were killed and one Mexican marine were wounded in the clash.

Multiple U.S. news outlets reported the DEA confirmed the escaped drug lord was back in custody.
Guzman escaped a high-security prison on July 11 through the use of a tunnel and motorcycle, in what was viewed as a huge embarrassment for Nieto’s administration. It was the second time Guzman had escaped prison.
