Meet the Two New Characters From ‘Finding Dory’
Pixar has released a new image showing two new characters for their highly anticipated film, Finding Dory, and they are pretty adorable.
Meet Bailey and Destiny, a.k.a Sweet Dee. Bailey, a snub-nosed beluga whale voiced by Ty Burrell (Modern Family) and Destiny, a sweet whale shark voiced by Kaitlin Olson, meet Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres) when she visits the rehabilitation center for marine life facility in the upcoming sequel.
“My character isn’t great at his own sonar capability, and Destiny has trouble swimming straight,” Burrell told Entertainment Weekly.
Together the offbeat pair helps Dory find her family.
“We totally get on each other’s nerves,” Olson shared with EW. “I like to think I’m a shark, but Bailey calls me a whale, and I make fun of his head, because it’s gigantic.”
This isn’t the first time Burrell and Olson have teamed up making chemistry pretty easy to come by. The pair played a couple on a short-lived TV series Out of Practice over ten years ago.
“We would just play off each other,” Olson explained. “Though to be honest, I was probably the boss of the entire situation, because I always like to be.”
Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West, Ed O’Neill, Eugene Levy and Idris Elba will join DeGeneres, Burrell, and Olson to complete the ensemble cast.
Hopefully, Pixar will be able to create the same kind of magic this time around like they did with Finding Nemo.
“There’s always a deeper message with Pixar, and so much of it [in Finding Dory] is that these characters are trying to find faith in themselves,” said Burrell. “They’re trying to overcome their insecurities in order to help somebody in need.”
Finding Dory dives into theaters June 17, 2016. Check out the trailer below.
