Mariah Carey May Voice Commissioner Gordon Role In ‘Lego Batman Movie,’ More Likely She’s The Mayor
Singer and actress Mariah Carey is reportedly in talks to lend her famous vocals for a role in The Lego Batman Movie.
Initial reports surfaced the singer would lend her voice as Commissioner Gordon, but Comicbook.com is reporting Carey will be playing the Mayor of Gotham City.
Warner Bros. studio bosses have yet to confirm the news, but if the “Hero” star signs on she will join Ralph Fiennes, who will play Alfred the Butler, Will Arnett, who has been cast as Batman, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Zach Galifianakis in The Lego Movie spin-off, which is due out in 2017.
The role of Commissioner Gordon is traditionally a male character, portrayed on the big screen by the likes of Pat Hingle and Gary Oldman. Ben McKenzie currently plays Gordon as a young police officer in hit TV series Gotham on Fox.
So, it really seems unlikely Carey would voice Gordon. We’ll keep you posted.
