Attention all gardeners! Chances are you got into gardening because you love nature, and loving nature means you want to preserve it. So, we have a great way for you to make your gardening a bit more sustainable.
It all starts with when you go to get your plants. You may have eco-friendly totes for grocery shopping, but why not have an eco-friendly crate for plant shopping?
This wooden crate is super easy to make and will last you a long time. The solid, box structure is ideal for carrying plants from the nursery to your home. It’s built with two holes on either end so you can attach whatever handle you feel comfortable with.
The tutorial comes from DIY Network and features an easy step-by-step process for constructing the crate.
What you’ll need to start is a table saw, ruler, pencil, drill hole saw, 1″ sanding block, paintbrush, and hammer. You’ll take two of the boards as end pieces and create handle holes through them, then attach those and the two side boards to the bottom piece. Once you’ve constructed your crate comes the best part: painting it as elegant or cute as you desire.
Once all that’s completed, you’ll attach your handle, which DIY Network recommends using a rustic jute rope and nylon knotting cord.
