Social media comes to the rescue once again for a 2-year-old dog in Gurgaon, India.
Photographer Dinesh Khanna lost his pup Thumki for 33 days after she ran away during a visit to the vet. Khanna, his wife, and their two daughters adopted Thumki as a stray two years before and were devastated when she left. So, the family set out on an ambitious search for their dog by posting on Facebook and WhatsApp, putting up flyers, and even offering a $150 reward.
In their Facebook post, they ask for city officials, such as garbage collectors, and neighbors and shelters, to keep a look out.
And their efforts paid off.
Someone named Pranav, who had been following their story, contacted them via WhatsApp saying he saw the pooch on another side of town and even sent them photos of her. Quick to action, Khanna high-tailed it to the location where he was able to track down Thumki.
Khanna called the return of Thumki a miracle in a Facebook post.
Now, the lucky dog gets the rest she deserves.
