We know that when sculptors work, they use a variety of mediums to complete their works of art, from ancient times where glorious marble sculptures have captivated us for centuries, to modern times where artists will use clay or metal to craft their work. For artist and logger Lueb Popoff, he’s taken a liking to wood, specifically tree trunks, where he creates life-like renditions of animals that have captivated thousands and keep Popoff’s work in high demand.
Recently, one of Popoff’s creations went viral after it was posted to the social sharing site Imgur. The creation is of a 10-foot tall piece depicting three raccoons and a fox carved out of a highly unassuming tree trunk.
Popoff posted the video to Hollow Log Tree Carving and Sculpture‘s Facebook page three years ago. In that time, it’s been viewed more than 300,000 times. The recent Imgur post has catapulted the video to the front page with nearly 6,000 users “up-voting” the video and receiving an additional 140,000 views.

Popoff’s other work can be viewed on his website and Facebook page. Sadly, unless you live near the Front Range and Summit areas of Colorado, Popoff’s work won’t grace your front yard, but if you have a chainsaw, maybe it’ll at least give you a little inspiration.
