This just in: Love is not dead. In case you thought there was no real romance left in the world, we bring you the inspiring story of a 10-year-old boy and his sweetheart. The little boy’s name is Cole and he’s teaching us what it means to care for someone.
After Cole’s girlfriend Sherri tore her ACL playing soccer, he wrote her the cutest love letter you may ever read. Both kids are only in fifth grade, but have been dating for over a year, according to Popsugar.
“Dear Sherri,
“I’m so sorry that you broke your knee. I will miss watching you play soccer and I’m sorry that you won’t be able to play softball for a while. But I know you will heal quickly, and I will get to watch you play again soon. Although you can’t play sports, you still make my day when I get to see your beautiful smile.
“God has a plan for all of us and sometimes it’s hard for us to understand why thing[s] happen to us. My dad tells me that God only allows things to happen that He knows we can handle. You are a pretty, nice, funny, and strong girl that is also a good friend. You will get through this quickly.
“Please let me know how I can help during your recovery. I hope you recover fast and get well soon.
“Your friend,
“Cole”
Cole’s cousin Gabriella posted the letter to Twitter, writing, “My little cousin is in the 5th (sic) grade.. 5th grade. I can’t even rn (right now).”

It’s since gone viral, being retweeted nearly 3,000 times as of publication.
However, Cole’s generosity doesn’t end there. He also gave Sherri a teddy bear and a cookie cake.
It just goes to show how even the simplest of gestures can show someone how much they mean to you. No word yet on how Sherri reacted to her gifts, but we’re pretty sure she loved them.
