“That’s an awful lot of turkeys,” said Jon Voight, actor seen in Ran Donovan and a captain of the obvious.
On November 18, Voight expressed the true meaning of Thanksgiving when he saw a woman in line at a Walmart superstore purchasing a bunch of turkeys for hungry children and paid for all of them.
Sydney Gholston, 28, was bringing six 12- to 14-pound turkeys to Home of the Innocents, a non-profit that provides care for medically-troubled, abused, abandoned and/or neglected children, in Louisville, KY when she ran into Voight on line in a Walmart before paying.
“You look a lot like Angelina Jolie’s dad,” Gholston told Voight, according to ABC News.
“Why would I look like that?” he answered.
Voight was in town filming a movie and offered to pay for the turkeys after learning who they were for – about 70 children on Thursday’s celebration.
“Very nice guy,” Gholston said. “We are so thankful for his generosity!”
