Jimmy Kimmel to Host 2017 Oscars
Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2017 Oscars.
The late-night TV personality, who hosted the Emmy Awards in September, will make his debut as the 89th Academy Awards’ MC in February.
Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd were announced as first-time Oscars producers last month.
This year’s Academy Awards, hosted by comedian Chris Rock, were the lowest rated in 11 years, thanks to a diversity drama which led to the #OscarsSoWhite campaign.
Previous hosts of the Oscars have included Ellen DeGeneres, Jon Stewart, Seth MacFarlane, Steve Martin, Billy Crystal and Neil Patrick Harris.
