Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer to Play Sisters In New Comedy
While on a promotional tour for the last installment of The Hunger Games film franchise, Jennifer Lawrence revealed a new project coming through the pipeline where she and comedy star Amy Schumer are co-writing a screenplay together that the two plan to co-star in as well.
Lawrence told the New York Times, “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
“Amy and I were creatively made for each other,” continued Lawrence. “We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages and we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.”
Lawrence and Schumer formed a friendship earlier this year after the 25-year-old emailed the comedienne to praise her for the comedy Trainwreck.
She continued, “(I said), ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you.’ We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting. We really hit it off, to say the least…”
