James Corden Goes to the White House for Some Carpool Karaoke With Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama has showed off a number of hidden talents during her time as First Lady, but on Wednesday she finally showed off her singing skills. The First Lady took a little drive with James Corden around the White House in the latest installment of Carpool Karaoke.

In the clip, Corden shows up for a tour of the White House, only to wind up in the wrong location. Luckily for him, Obama shows up at the right moment and offers to give him a personal tour. Obama’s first request was to put on some music and sing along, something she rarely gets to do.

The duo put on “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” for the ultimate duet. After that, Corden asked her when was the last time she had the chance to “rock out.”

“I’ve been in a car — it was months ago — with my daughter who learned to drive,” she said. “And that was the only time in seven and a half years that I’ve been in the passenger seat listening to music, rocking out like this.”

After reminiscing about her time in the White House, the pair went on to sing “Single Ladies” with some mean choreography.

After a leisurely drive around 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, they belted out “This Is For My Girls,” a song that benefits Obama’s Let Girls Learn charity. During the song they even picked up another rider, Missy Elliot, to help finish out the tune.

The now trio went on to wrap up the mini-tour, closing it out with “Get Ur Freak On.”
