Hugh Jackman Thinks Tom Hardy Would Make A ‘Great’ Wolverine
Hugh Jackman is set to suit up as the X-Men’s Wolverine one last time in a couple years, but speculation has already swirled over who can fill those big shoes after he leaves the franchise. Well, Jackman himself has a few ideas and comic books fan might like what he thinks.
In promoting his new movie, Pan, Jackman told the interviewer he thinks Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) would make a great younger Wolverine.
“I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me,” Jackman joked, saying that he is often asked about what younger actors might do a good job, but hasn’t actually thought about it much. “If he’s younger than me, for sure, I think Tom Hardy would be great.”
If the studio eventually decided on Hardy, it’d mark the second time he’d step into the cinematic world of comic books. Hardy previously played Bane, the villain from The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
You can see Jackman in Pan, opening Oct. 9 in theaters (trailer below), and he’ll grace the screen as Wolverine in the third installment in the franchise on March 3, 2017.
