‘Harry Potter’ Fans Honor Alan Rickman with Tribute at Platform 9¾
Harry Potter fans have created a makeshift memorial to honor the death of Alan Rickman at “Platform 9¾” in London’s King Cross station. The popular tourist attraction has been adorned with handwritten notes, photographs, and flowers.
Rickman played Professor Severus Snape, a major character in the Harry Potter franchise. The platform is the fictional location where one departs for Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express.
Since the passing of the acclaimed actor, photo’s have surfaced all over social media showing the makeshift memorial.

The memorial joins other tributes that have been created around the globe. Fans at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida raised their wands and left flowers at Snape’s door in memory of Rickman.
Rickman’s costars, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, reached out earlier on Thursday to pay their respect to the late actor. Radcliffe shared in his tribute that “film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man.” “I feel so lucky to have worked and spent time with such a special man and actor. I’ll really miss our conversations. RIP Alan. We love you.” Watson wrote.
