All Hail Sriracha Ketchup!
Are you on the sriracha bandwagon yet? For those who don’t know, sriracha is a hot sauce from Thailand alternately referred to as rooster sauce. As hot sauces go, it has all the ingredients you would expect: chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. Somehow, they whip those items up into a red blend that is pure delight for those who like their food on the spicy side (guilty). Now, we are proud to announce the union between sriracha and Heinz ketchup. Or as I like to call it, a match made in condiment heaven.
Heinz has been making ketchup since 1876. The sell about a gazillion bottles of the red tomatoey goodness every year. There are many folks who can’t enjoy a French fry, burger, hot dog or onion ring without ketchup (guilty.) Now, those great ballpark types of snacks are going to be kicked up a notched with the sriracha infused flavor.
Heinz is already pumping out ketchups flavored with Jalapeno and Tabasco. Clearly, they’re making a run for the hot sauce market. What’s great about the sriracha ketchup is that it’s not going to burn your tongue. You get the hot, for sure, but you also get the sweet. Our French fries won’t know what hit them. The sriracha ketchup will join sriracha popcorn, sriracha mayo, sriracha potato chips and sriracha beef jerky in the universe of sriracha-flavored stuff. There’s also sriracha lip balm. Defies explanation.
