‘Tis truly the season for giving. That’s what one Alabama mother-of-five found out after the help of a magnanimous stranger brought her to tears.
While at a doctor’s appointment for one of her sons, Melissa Simms realized she couldn’t afford her insurance co-pay. While her back was turned, a woman in the waiting area handed Simms’ son, Trey, an envelope telling him to give it to his mother.
Once outside, Trey gave the envelope to his mother. Inside it she found a note along with a $100 bill. The generous stranger had written, “I’ve had days like you’re having today — hang in there.” Also on the note was a scripture reference, Joshua 1:9 along with a heart.
The Scripture reads: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
A tearful Melissa Simms told her local Fox News affiliate that after receiving the money she was able to put dinner on the table for her children. In addition, she thanked the mysterious woman and hopes to find her so she can thank her in person.
Hopefully, with the power of social media Melissa Simms will get the change to thank her guardian angel face-to-face.
