As the sixth season of HBO’s smash hit Game of Thrones nears, fans of the books were recently disappointed to learn that the sixth book, The Winds of Winter, would not be published before the new season premiered.
So, what’s taking so long? Well, late night TV host Conan O’Brien got the scoop in a hilarious video that shows author George R.R. Martin “procrastinating” as the he attempts to get rid of his writer’s block.
It seems the famed author is filling his time by doing a lot of unnecessary things these days, according to the video. From making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, to playing weird knife games in his kitchen, to buying a new mattress, Martin finds a host of activities that he’d rather do than write. And some aren’t even legal.
Watch the funny “undercover” video below.
