When former NBA player Etan Thomas asked a woman on the train if he could have the seat next to her, she declined, saying the seat was already taken. But moments later, a white man came along and asked if he could sit there, and she obliged.
Strange? Yeah, and Thomas thought so, too.
The former Washington Wizards player took the opportunity to confront the woman about why she gave the seat to the other man. He detailed the whole experience in a viral Facebook post.
After Thomas confronted her, the woman reportedly told him to not “play the race card stuff” as she “dated” a black man in college.
Thomas writes:
“So I go to the next seat. Now, less than 2 (sic) mins later a man (who happens to be white) asks if he can sit there and she says why sure let me move my stuff. So I have to say something so I ask ummmmm did you just not want ME to sit next to you ? Were you scared ? Not comfortable with a Black Man sitting next to you ?”
Thomas then took a picture of the woman and told her he was going to make a Facebook post about her, to which she replied she was going to get the conductor.
However, the conductor turned out to be a big fan of Thomas’ so the woman ultimately backed down.
Thomas’ post has since blown up with over 37,000 shares and fans coming to his defense.

And shout out to you, brother, for handling this situation like a true professional…and a forthright, proud Black man.

What, you didn't know large Black men have cooties that are potentially deadly to dumb little white women.
