Former Child Star Wins ‘The Voice’
Grown-up child star Alisan Porter was crowned the winner of The Voice on Tuesday night.
The mom-of-two, who starred in the 1991 family film Curly Sue as a kid, was a frontrunner to win it all for weeks.
Porter’s victory made show history by giving Christina Aguilera the first win for a female coach.
Performance highlights of the finale included sets from Little Big Town, Sia and Zayn Malik, who kicked off the second hour of the finale by performing new single, “Like I Would.” Reports earlier in the day suggested the former One Direction star had pulled out of a performance after failing to show up for a pre-taping on Monday.
It was suggested he was billed to perform an odd duet with country star Jennifer Nettles, but she was actually booked to collaborate with Porter.
Joe Walsh, former The Voice judge CeeLo Green, and Alison Krauss also performed with the finalists.
Ariana Grande and Aguilera wrapped up the big show by teaming up to perform Grande’s new single “Dangerous Woman.”
