Remember in the movie Spider-Man, when Green Goblin was gliding around Manhattan on his hoverboard? A new invention could bring that fantastic scene to life.
The Flyboard Air is the brainchild of Franky Zapata‘s Zapata Racing, the company behind the original water-powered Flyboard. The company claims that the hoverboard can reach an altitude of 10,000 feet and can reach maximum speeds of 93.2 mph.
However, in test footage released by the company, the device flew at just 35 mph for under four minutes, despite the company claiming it can fly for 10 minutes at a time.
Although the video has been seen over a million times, many people are not convinced. Commenters on Youtube claim that the video is fake, saying that they see wires in some of the shots.
In response, the company released another video of the Flyboard in action, this time from a different angle.
The company said that the Flyboard Air has been in development for four years and is still in the prototype phase. No release date has been announced for commercial use.
Let’s hope that this is real because this looks so cool!
