Calling all Guardians Of The Galaxy fans!
The first official photo of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 dropped early Wednesday morning, giving a preview of the main cast including a very tiny Groot!
Along with the picture, writer and director of the film, James Dunn, officially announced the start of production and some additions to the cast.
New cast members will include Kurt Russell (rumored to by playing Star-Lord’s father), Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sulivan, and Pom Klementieff. The new cast joins returning cast members Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gilian, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket.
And yes Kurt Russell has joined the #GotGVol2 cast, as have @PomKlementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and @SullyActsUp. They are all amazing.

Gunn confirmed back in June that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 would be more about fathers.
“It’s going to be exciting. I think it’s a more emotional movie,” Gunn shared with Collider. “I think it’s both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters. We get to learn a lot about fathers in the second movie.”
Regardless of the official announcement, Pratt and Dunn have already posted some behind the scenes action from the set during the last few weeks on Instagram.
