The Robin Thicke-Pharrell collaboration “Blurred Lines” that helped boost supermodel Emily Ratajkowski’s career into hyperdrive is now the “bane” of her existence, Ratajkowski tells InStyle UK in the new October issue.
Ratajkowski, one of several women who are paraded naked around singers Thicke and Pharrell in the music video, told the fashion magazine, “I wasn’t into the idea at all at first. I think I came off as a bit annoyed in the video. Now, it’s the bane of my existence. When anyone comes up to me about ‘Blurred Lines,’ I’m like, are we seriously talking about a video from three years ago?”
So fellas, don’t bring it up if you happen to catch Ratajkowski out in the club.
After the immensely popular video put the model on everyone’s radar, she landed a minor yet crucial role in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s bestselling novel, Gone Girl. Ratajkowski played Ben Affleck’s onscreen young fling, Andie Fitzgerald.
More recently, Ratajkowski starred alongside Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends, but the film bombed at the box office.
Hopefully the model’s next endeavor does slightly better.
