Meet Ralph, an adorable dog who waits for this 17-year-old girl to pet him everyday on her way home from school.
Elisa Lee first met Ralph at the beginning of the school year. Lee noticed Ralph near the school where he was lying around under a door. After seeing the dog in the same spot for a few days, Lee decided to go pet him.
“At first I was afraid that he would bite me, since most dogs would bark at you and seem aggressive if you came near their house,” Lee told BuzzFeed News. “Days passed and he was still waiting there, so one of my friends encouraged me to try to pet him.”

After that, a newfound friendship was born and Lee has continued to visit Ralph almost everyday since.
“The first time I pet him he was so excited and started licking my hand and pawing at it,” Lee told BuzzFeed. “Sometimes he’s not there, probably chewing on a toy or laying in the grass, but if I call his name he is sure to come to the little spot on the right side of the gate where he can see me better. Most of the time, by the time I walk to the spot, he waits there for me to pet him before I leave.”

Lee finally got to learn Ralph’s name after seeing him out with his owner. She was taking a gamble, but was pretty sure it was the right dog because of the spot on his nose.
“I thought to myself in my head kiddingly ‘oh what if that’s the dog I pet everyday.’ And to my surprise, I noticed his cute nose that is pink and has a brownish outlining and realized it was him,” Lee told Mashable.
Lee shared a photo of her visit with Ralph on Twitter where it quickly took off. The picture went viral with over 15,000 retweets and 50,000 likes.

Right now, Lee is enjoying her time with Ralph, but she is worried about their friendship when she gradates this year.
“I am quite sad that I got to only meet him this school year,” Lee said to Mashable. “I’m worried about what will happen when I graduate but I’m sure his owner loves him so he should be just fine. I hope Ralph can make new friends around our school and be happy!”
It doesn’t seem like Ralph will have a hard time finding some new friends! Just look at that adorable face!
