It doesn’t matter if we’re gone a minute, an hour, or a year; our dogs will miss us no matter what. It is what makes them so endearing to us as pets, what makes them man’s best friend: you can almost feel the love exude from dogs and their humans. Hannah Foraker and her 12-year-old golden retriever are a perfect example of this.
The aging retriever, now deaf due to age, was recorded greeting Foraker when she returned from basic training in the army, and the dog’s reaction was nothing short of heartwarming. Foraker had been gone for three months but was able to return for a short Christmas break. Check out the beautiful video of their encounter:
With a delighted squeal and tail a-wagging, the dog can’t contain her excitement at seeing her human, giving her paw to Foraker and throwing herself on her lap.
Three minutes, three hours, or three months, the result remains the same. You can always count on your pet dog to be there, waiting for you, big smile on its face.
