‘Daredevil’ Season Two Will Be ‘Elektra-fying’
Ten days after releasing part one of the trailer for Daredevil’s second season, Netflix unveiled the second half on Thursday.
While the first trailer centered mainly on introducing the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), it ended with a cliffhanger teasing the character of Elektra (Elodie Yung), a master assassin and former lover of Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox).
The second half of the trailer picks up where the first left off, with Elektra confronting Murdock in his apartment. From there the trailer goes through numerous action sequences of the two battling the Japanese Yakuza and their foot-soldiers, the HAND ninja clan, adversaries first introduced in season one.
The trailer also implies more turmoil in Matt Murdock’s personal life, as he and his best friend/legal partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and ally Claire (Rosario Dawson) both clash with him over the hero’s nightly activities.
In one bit of dialogue, Foggy berates an injured Murdock, saying, “Every time I walk up those stairs, I wonder if today’s the day you’re dead in you’re living room.”
“There are horrible things happening in this city,” Murdock replies coolly. “I’m done apologizing to you for who I am.”
Following up on 2015’s massively successful first season, season two of Marvel’s Daredevil unites returning actors Cox, Dawson, Henson, and Deborah Ann Woll, with newcomers Bernthal and Yung.
All 13 episodes will be available to stream March 18 on Netflix. If you need to catch up, you can stream all of season one now.
