When one father realized he would be on a plane during Halloween with his 3-year-old daughter, he found a way to take trick-or-treating to the sky.
During a flight from Boston to San Francisco, the dad passed out candy to all of the passengers on the plane. With the candy he included a note that explained his kindhearted plan. He wrote:
“Happy Halloween! My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight… so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her. If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket. You’ll be making her Halloween! If you’re unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me. Thanks so much!”
Stephanie Kahan was a passenger on the plane and made sure to get a snapshot of this kind gesture. She tweeted out the note and picture of 3-year-old Molly, who was dressed as a doughnut, adding, “OMG, my heart is exploding right now. Dad of the year just passed out candy to everyone on the flight so his 3-year-old could trick or treat.”

The tweet has already been retweeted over 69,000 times and has gotten over 120,000 likes (as of press).
“My heart absolutely melted when I saw the note,” Kahan told the Huffington Post. “I was so sad for her because I thought she was planning to trick or treat when we landed, which was midnight in SF, and I knew she was going to be disappointed. But sure enough, about an hour and a half into the flight the dad started passing out treats with the note attached.”
She continued, “When she got back to her seat, the dad asked if she had fun, and she said she was ready to eat the candy.”
Sounds like this guy really is the dad of the year! Get him a mug!
