When you live alone, it can be easy to let random, unknown sounds get the best of your logic and make you think that someone has broken into your house. So when an 18-year-old man from Sonoma, California, began hearing noises in his house, he was justifiably freaked out. And when his dogs began to bark incessantly, he knew at that point something was wrong.
So he took his pets to a safe place to make a frantic 911 call to his local law enforcement. Then all he could do was wait, gathering his dogs around him. The problem is, the young man forgot to account for all of his dogs.
When police officers arrived, they found the man looking terrified, his dogs with him. They began to search his home, both the exterior and interior, and soon enough, they found the devious intruder.
Take a look at this scoundrel:
Unbeknownst to the young man, his great dane had gone upstairs and curiously poked his head through the skylight, igniting his canine companions into barking, which in turn drove the man into hysteria.
“One of the deputies outside the house heard this scratching noise,” said Spencer Crum of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department. “He shined his light around the house and saw this dog sticking his head out a skylight on the roof. At that point we ditched all tactics and died laughing.”
Luckily, there wasn’t an actual criminal involved, but dude, c’mon, keep better track of your dogs. How do you lose a great dane!?
