Chris Evans to Donald Trump: Be a ‘Better Leader’
Captain America star Chris Evans has urged U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to be a “better leader” after Trump alleged that millions of people “voted illegally” in the election earlier this month.
The businessman turned politician, who beat Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House, caused controversy on Sunday when he labeled his political rival “sad” and tweeted: “In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
His remarks quickly caused a stir on social media, with actor Evans commenting that Trump hadn’t backed up his claims with any concrete evidence.
‘Without evidence’. U r the President Elect now. U must stop energizing lies. The time for campaign tactics is over. A leader must do better https://t.co/vLmWU73YQ6

“Without evidence. U r (sic) the President Elect now. U (sic) must stop energising (sic) lies. The time for campaign tactics is over. A leader must do better,” he tweeted.
Iron Man directorJon Favreau was also quick to comment, writing on his Twitter page: “All 3 can be true: 1) Trump too dumb to be Machiavellian, 2) Media has to cover his tweets, 3) His tweets distract us from bigger issues.”
U.S. comedian Billy Eichner didn’t hold back as he labeled Trump “completely insane,” while stand-up funny man Kumail Nanjiani tweeted: “Imagine Obama, not Trump, tweeting this. You’d be surprised & horrified. If the bar was any lower it would be in the earth’s core.”
Star Trek actor George Takei wrote: “Mr. Trump, there are millions more of us who opposed you than supported you. You aren’t winning any friends by trying to erase our votes,” while Andy Cohen added: “Sweetie. We beg you to step away from the Twitter.”
Meanwhile, stars of the TV show Revenge also united against Trump, with Emily VanCamp writing, “This. I can’t even. #Recount2016,” before Ashley Madekwe added, “Gosh… I guess there’s going to be millions of arrests for all that illegal voting (wry face emoji).”
