Here’s one for you: The popular fast food company Chick-Fil-A is trying to convince you that healthy eating means consuming their grilled chicken nuggets every three hours. EVERY THREE HOURS.
The tip falls under their “Great Ideas for Healthier Living” campaign on the side of their take-out bags, where it suggests eating the nuggets for a New Year’s resolution.
The bag went viral after SB Nation’s Rodger Sherman tweeted a picture of the bag.

According to Chick-Fil-A’s website, an 8-pack of grilled chicken nuggets is only 140 calories and contains 23 g of protein. However, the sodium count is through the roof at 530 mg. It should be noted that the USDA suggests 2300 mg per day. Therefore, eating those nuggets every three hours will easily put you well over the recommended amount. 530 mg six times a day equals a whopping 3180 mg of sodium. Not to mention, this diet doesn’t give you any required nutrients that come with fruits and veggies.
Chick-Fil-A has been a fan-favorite choice in fast food for years, but the company really made headlines in 2012 when President and CEO Dan Cathy said he was in support of “the traditional family,” and when it was discovered they donated nearly 2 million to anti-gay groups in 2010.
Perhaps all the boycotts have been working, because this seriously seems like a last-ditch effort to get people to eat their food.
You know what would make for “healthier living?” Not eating Chick-Fil-A.
