Meet Charles Brockman III, a college freshman who is honoring his dad in the best possible way.
Brockman tweeted out a photo thanking his father for always being by his side. The now viral tweet shows Brockman’s father walking him into kindergarten followed by a photo of the duo moving into college.
“From the first day of kindergarten to college move in. Thank you dad,” Brockman wrote on Twitter.
Brockman’s mother has captured the father and son walking into school together every year since Brockman began kindergarten. Brockman’s mother continued the tradition this year by snapping a photo of the pair during college move in at Mississippi State University.

“I’ve been truly blessed to have my dad, and my mom, always with me to provide support in everything I do,” Brockman told Today.
Brockman, who plans to study broadcast journalism and communications, did not expect the touching tweet to go viral. Since being posted the photo has been retweeted over 63,000 times.
“I thought maybe my friends would like it and retweet it, but I was not expecting this at all,” Brockman told Today.
While Brockman didn’t expect the attention from the viral tweet, he is glad that it is shedding a light on the bond he has with his father. The unexpected kindness from the photo has been a bonus thank you for Brockman and his dad.
“Sometimes fathers don’t get enough credit, so I just had to pay it forward to him and thank him for all the years he’s been there for me,” Brockman explained to Today.
As an only child, Brockman isn’t sure how his family will adjust to the new empty nest at home. For now, they are just enjoying the time they have together.
I'm so thankful to my parents for always being here & taking me to every meet. I couldn't do it w/o them. But now it's time for college?? pic.twitter.com/V39ArUJYIl

“It hasn’t hit me yet because they’re still here, but I know it will hit me soon,” Brockman told The Dallas Morning News. “I’m happy they raised me to be who I am. But I know I got growing up to do.”
