Cat-Feeder Uses Facial Recognition to Perfectly Dispense and Manage Your Cat’s Diet

CatFi is a smart cat-feeding device that allows your felines to grab a meal even when you’re not home.
The device, previously named Bistro, uses cat facial reading technology to recognize your cat’s face and distribute dry food and water appropriately. With the accompanying app, you can monitor your cat’s diet and health, and even receive a notification if abnormal intakes are detected. The feeder is designed for multi-cat households, but works just as well with one cat.
CatFi has a scale attached to to the feeder to monitor your cat’s weight. When the cat steps onto the scale, the facial recognition technology kicks in and dispenses the food.
However, the team behind CatFi know that health records may not be as accurate when one cat goes and eats the leftovers of another cat. So, to help counteract this, CatFi lets you “adjust the maximum amount of food to be left on the feeding tray to ensure as little as possible is available to be stolen by another cat.” And if that’s not enough, “We will fully open up the feeder APIs so cat-loving programmers and hackers can create new, shareable feeding strategies,” according to its Indiegogo page.
