WATCH: Dirt Bikers Rescue Lost Dog in the Wilderness
Some days you just never know when you’ll have the opportunity to save a life. That’s exactly what happened in the video below, where bikers save a lost dog in the wilderness.
According to a video shared to YouTube, bikers Dana and Gina were out riding their dirt bikes in the hills. It was the afternoon and the sun would be setting soon. But the couple wasn’t ready to head home. They had heard a curious sound deep in the mountains, and upon inspection discovered a lost, frightened dog. In the video, Dana is hot on the trail of the small brown-and-white dog, but he’s struggling to get close to the animal due to his noisy bike.
As the video progresses, Dana finally is able to get close to the dog, which has taken shelter underneath a thick bush. It’s difficult to approach the dog, but Dana sees a collar on the animal, so he knows that the dog must belong to someone. Dana pushes his way into the bush. You can see the scared look in the dog’s eyes, but it’s also a look of gratitude. The dog seems to trust Dana, at least enough for Dana to grab the collar and get the phone number off of it.
Dana calls the number, but there’s no answer. They give the small dog, Max (as it says on his collar), some water and earn his trust. However, there’s another problem. Neither Dana nor Gina can carry the dog off the hill on their bike, and the sun is about to set. If they don’t take the dog now, they might never find him again.
Running out of time, Dana and Gina decide that the best thing to do is race down the hill, get their truck, and try to get back before the sun goes down. With light fading, they make their way off the hill, hoping the dog stays where it is long enough for them to return. The good news? The owners finally call back, ecstatic that Max has been found. But will Dana and Gina get the dog off the hill in time?
