Right about now you’re probably asking yourself “Where do I apply?” after reading that title.

Well, in order to achieve “Best Job Ever” status, Allan Dixon first had to beat out almost half a million other participants in the “Best Job In The World” campaign, created by Tourism Australia. The campaign served as a competition whose winners would obtain one of six amazing jobs. Dixon, a photographer based in New Zealand, was one of those winners, and his reward was to officially call himself a professional “Adventure Content Marketer.” Job duties include: traveling the world, bringing awareness to different animals via taking selfies with them.

Yes, you heard that correctly. Imagine, if you will, the end of your nine-to-five, and instead, you get to photograph the funny faces you make with that goat…or lemur…or quokka next door. This is Dixon’s gig, and his 317,000 followers on Instagram are loving it.

Check out some of his work:

Today is #SaveQuokkas day! SMS a picture of yourself to +61437644978 and WWF will send you back a quokka selfie for you to post online and hashtag it #SaveQuokkas. Unfortunately a huge number of quokkas died on the mainland in a forest fire but WWF are raising money to help rehabilitate quokkas. See all the great stuff they’re doing for quokkas here: www.wwf.org.au/savequokkas or click the link in my bio. ? Keep them smiling forever! @wwf_australia

Possums have a tough life. They’re native to Australia and help get rid of unwanted pests. But because they sometimes live in people’s roofs and eat anything they can find, they become pests. In turth, I think they’re just really smart at finding lots free stuff. Like sleeping on a friends couch and eating fruit from trees. The free living possum. @currumbinsanctuary #DaxonsAnimalSelfies
